44's forthcoming album EDS features rappers, vocalists and producers from around the globe. The list includes Marley Marl, members of the legendary Juice Crew, freestyle champion Craig G., vocalist Sachiko Brown and producers DJ Plain View and Cess Less. Mixing duties were handled by Katsuyuki Seto, a Japanese pioneer in the realm of 5.1 channel surround-sound engineering, and mastering was done by Tatsuya Sato from Sterling Sound. Artwork for the cover design ("The Buddha") was created by Hironobu Suzuki.
Taken as a whole, the album draws on the influences of hip-hop from the late 1980s and early 1990s, while also taking cues from the work of DJ Krush, Dr. Octogon, and the Wu-Tang Clan. Representing the next phase in the evolution of Japanese-American hip-hop, 44's EDS has been several years in the making, and now is ready for the world to hear.
